Back to FB

I’m realizing that my hiatus from Facebook was good for my mental health, but I would like to invite my new followers to follow me there because I feel that more people will be able to see my posts and benefit from them.  I have decided to create a RooTrifecta group page.  Look for it in the next few days.

Job 16:1-5

Job was afflicted with all sorts of ailments. His friends had advised him to abandon his faith because God was causing his affliction. Job refused to abandon his faith. Here Job rebukes his discouragers by turning the tables, telling them that if he were in their place he would encourage them to live in their faith and dwell with God in their affliction.

Luke 10:25-28

Saturdays instead of posting the Bible Coloring picture, I will post the sermon text for Sunday’s service from our church.  This is my attempt to connect with the text before listening to the theologic teaching of the Pastor’s sermon.

This week’s is perfect for Ignatian Contemplation.  The steps for Ignatian Contemplation:

1. Quiet yourself and read the verses. Pray for God’s leading you into the text.

2.  Ask God to place you in the story, as a character, a bystander or even Jesus himself (I realize that seeing the text from Jesus’ vantage point may seem presumptuous: I know it did for me at first, but I eventually found it very enlightening to see it from Jesus’ POV)

3.  After your contemplative experience, I encourage you to journal about what insights you gleaned.

I am not writing a summary today, so I do not influence your experience.
